Folake Tafita

Folake Tafita, LL.B., LLM (Toronto) BL, is a law teacher and researcher of the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her areas of interests include women and children’s rights, sexual and reproductive health rights, health law and policy. Before her legal education, she trained as a nurse at the University College Hospital Ibadan, Nigeria and obtained a Diploma certificate in Nursing. This experience informed her decision to pursue a degree in law with a bias for medical negligence and health law. She is a holder of Master of Laws Degree, from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Nigeria.

She is also a graduate of University of Toronto, Canada where she obtained the Master of Laws Degree in Reproductive and Sexual Health Law. She is actively involved in the promotion of mental health rights and law in Nigeria, through Foundation for Mental Health Law and Rights (FOMHLR) an NGO advocating and promoting mental health rights in Nigeria
