Helen Osinowo is a professor of clinical psychology for children and adults with mental health and criminological/ clinical health and forensic issues. She received her clinical psychology training at the psychiatry department, University hospital, WHO Collaborating Centre, Aro Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Abeokuta, Nigeria; Institute of Psychiatry- Maudsley Hospital (London) Bethlem Hospital, (Kent); Linden Hospital Forensic Mental Health Hospital. She worked with Staffordshire Trust(NHS) – St Georges Hospital, Stafford, Shelton Hospital, Shrewsbury (Forensic Mental Health Service), in UK.
Her experience in working with children was acquired in the following hospitals: Royal Hospital for Sick children, Chase Farm Hospital, Homerton Hospital, Kings College Hospital (London) ; Uk Social Services (Child Custody Services) in London; Remand and Juvenile justice System & Oyo State Social Welfare Family Counseling services, Nigeria. Prof Osinowo is actively involved in teaching childhood psychopathology/psychotherapy, child and adolescent deviant/ criminological and correctional psychology on MSc clinical psychology, MSc Legal, Criminological and Security Psychology, psychology programs.
She also teaches medical psychology and correctional psychology to undergraduate psychology students and supervises clinical psychology interns. She is external examiner to the following universities: University of Legon, Accra, Ghana; University of Lagos, Obafemi Awolowo University, Benue State University and University of Jos.
